Minutes
Michelle Bahuaud - gave us updated information from MECY since she has been seconded from Lord Selkirk SD for a year as a psychological consultant for MECY. She is in charge of updating the POP software program for psychologists in the province, so she asked for different opinions about what was good and what should be changed to make it more user-friendly and applicable. She is also updating the Behaviour Intervention Planning (BIP) process for MECY, so she asked those in attendance for their ideas. Several psychologists offered samples of their BIPs and other resources.
Mike Hogan - did a presentation of his new resource teacher database software. It is able to store information about all referred students in a school, as well as create AEPs, IEPs, BIPs, meeting minutes, summary reports, and so on. Many psychologists were interested in obtaining a copy of it once it is finalized.
Dr. Leslie Jocelyn (psychiatrist) - Did a marvelous PowerPoint presentation on ADHD in the afternoon. She is heading a new outreach clinic for children/adolescents who have ADHD, as an extension of MATC. It will allow physicians from around the province (once the service is established) to refer students with ADHD who are not responding to the prescribed medications, or who have very complicated cases (e.g., other co-morbid disorders). The service will also be of assistance to parents and caregivers.
